Cruising the Caribbean- Friends on Holiday
Location: Caribbean
My friend and I have been saving to go on a Cruise in the Caribbean for 18 months, so as you can imagine to finally board the Ship was an amazing feeling.
As we boarded we were shocked at the enormity of the Ship. We both had never been on a ship before and I remember my friend jabbing me in the side and whispering, "This isn't a ship it's a floating City", and that's exactly what it was!
We had decided before booking the Cruise that we wanted a mixture of Cruising and exploring some of the States (as we wanted to get the best of both worlds! naturally). Therefore we chose a Cruise that went to Texas, Florida, Mexico, Grand Cayman, and Key West just to name a few places.
Now for the Ship its' self. One of the first things we noticed when we boarded was just how clean and tidy everything was. My mate and I are clean freaks so it was great to know that they obviously took pride in how the ship looked. Everywhere you turned the staff were smiling and they were very helpful with giving directions and general questions.
One thing my friend and I were determined to do while at sea was to make full use of the Spa facilities. By the end of the 9 days Cruising we each had 3 Massages, a Pedicure, and Facial. The Cabins were great too, we shared a Twin Room, and every morning and evening Housekeeping cleaned the rooms. The food was delicious and there were a number of different Restaurants and Eateries to chose from so we always had a choice. My mate and I do like to have the odd drink, especially when on Holiday, and let me say that we certainly were not disappointed with the Nightly Entertainment on the Ship.
On the days that the Ship was docked at a Port we maximized our time on land and got to do a ton of activities. We went Snorkeling in some of the most beautiful water I have ever laid eyes on, shopped till we dropped, went on tours of quaint little villages in the middle of nowhere, and went Cycling and Kayaking.
If you are ever thinking of going on a Cruise, stop thinking about and just book it! My mate and I had the time of our lives and we met some real characters on and off the Cruise too. Plus you really do get the best of both worlds if you chose a Cruise that docks both on Islands and the Main Land.
